Spain House sit
This house sit was for 8 days. Paul and I were looking forward to some relaxation time! Sightseeing, planning accommodation and organising transport was tiring hard work!!
From Cartagena we could bus the 45 km which would take over 2 hours due to all the stops or try BlablaCar - a car share app. So we organised a Blabla costing only 8 euros at 11am. Our house-sit owners were very sceptical about the trip and were worried we were going to be robbed or that we miss-understood and it should of been 80 euros! But we were prepared to give it a go - if no show there was a bus at 1pm.
But all went to plan, a lovely local mechanical engineer student was our Blabla car owner. He even dropped us off where we were meeting Brian, our house-sit owner, rather than at his stop, travelling an extra couple of Kilometers! Our Scottish house-sit owner still doesn't believe it's legit! A true Scotsman!
We had two nights and one full day with house owners, a retired Scottish couple who have lived in Spain for ten years. They showed us around their local area, and we had time getting to know their two little rescue dogs. Their three story small town house has access to a communal pool.😃
So our 8 days have been spent walking dogs, swimming, reading, playing cards and planning our next travel stint to our house sit in France.
It would not be our choice to live in an area like this as we love being able to see the countryside, but it has been an interesting insight into just how many United Kingdom people have chosen to retire to this area!
Relaxing time at Spain house-sit.
