Had a great flight to Singapore with Swiss Air. Met at airport by Yumin and Leon. Yumin was a farmstay guest 3 years ago and we have kept in touch😍. Had a look around one of the terminal complex, The Jewel - huge shopping area in an architecturally beautiful complex. Enjoyed our first of many food explosions! Kiwi food so bland in comparison! Yumin was an amazing local guide! We enjoyed time with her family and seeing sights of Singapore! This is the year of the rabbit. The year of the dragon that's me! The year of the snake is Paul and Yumin (24 year gap) The Tooth relic Buddhist temple -"was stunning on the inside! We visited it with Yumin and her sister Yuchun. Singapore claims to be a city in a garden! I think they do a good job of it! Look at all that food!!! An amazing meal with Yumin's parents and sister and brother-in-law. Marie eating the crab claw! We enjoyed a relaxing stretching yoga session with Yumin's friend -Lulu. Was wonderful but always a...
13 December 2022- 22 December 2022 Paul and I went to the musical-Newsies. It was great! Set in New York in 1860 based on a true story of teenage newspaper sellers fight for justice. The dancing was aerobic, energetic and amazing, the choreography fantastic as was the stage setting. You walked through a scene to get to your seats, it was held at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Very cool stage set up! I went along with Becs to Matilda's end of term Carol Concert. Enjoyed the enthusiasm of the 5-8 year Olds - so cute! Paul enjoyed a day at the RAF Museum. Paul found it interesting to see how far flight has developed since the first flight in 1903 by the Wright brothers. With Sam and Jade we went to the longest running show "The Mousetrap". It is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie. The Mousetrap opened in London's West End in 1952. Was a great show and Sam was the best detective- but we can't tell you who dunnit!! Waiting for Mousetrap to start at St Martin...
8 - 16 August CORNWALL Jade had organised a rental car from Exeter for our week. So we trained to Exeter to collect our car. Lesson learnt at car rental place - need an actual credit card for deposit, credit card on phone not enough! Debit Card not accepted but luckily Sam had his credit card with him, plus an extra £15 a day for additional drivers!🥴 We drove to my cousin's farm, Talskiddy, near St Columb Major, for afternoon tea of scones and clotted cream. Then out to watch a bit of the harvesting and back in for Cornish Pasties - I was 'home' - my dad was Cornish. My cousin, Alan, is my second cousin - his Grandmother and mine were sisters. We had a great time looking through old photos and family trees to work out all the connections - Paul was fantastic at interpreting the complex family tree! He could get my connections back to my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather who died in 1710!! We were staying a half hour drive from the family farm at Pa...
